Make Your Smile Beautiful

Your smile is a statement. It conveys your emotions. It tells others how you feel about them. It tells the world how you feel about yourself. But if chipped, stained, crooked or missing teeth are “hiding” the real you or causing you to hide your smile, maybe it is time to consider reinventing your smile to uncover the real you.

We offer a full range of cosmetic dental services:

Brighten Teeth That Have Lost Their Sparkle

You can brighten teeth that have lost their sparkle! Tooth whitening is a process that lightens discoloration of the enamel in your teeth. There are a few methods of whitening, the most common uses a mild solution retained in a custom-fitted tray worn over your teeth.

Teeth become discolored from aging, consumption of staining substances (coffee, tea, cola, wine, tobacco), trauma, nerve degeneration, and old restorations. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline may also cause tooth discoloration.

Many people are interested in brightening their smile and almost all of them can pursue a tooth whitening treatment. However, there are some cases where the treatment may not be effective. Dr. Cabot can help determine if you are a viable candidate for tooth whitening and which method is best suited.

Permanently Replace Missing Teeth

Dental implants are changing the way people live!  With them, you can now rediscover the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life.

If you are missing one or more teeth, you’ll want replacements that are as natural as possible.  If dentures or bridges don’t work for you, you may consider dental implants.  Unlike dentures, which can be removed, implants are permanently anchored into the jaw itself.

With implants, Dr. Cabot can get you a perfect fit for your replacement tooth or teeth, and they will look and feel as good as (or better than!) your original teeth.

Cover Problem Teeth With Ultra-Thin Veneers

Today at Queen Village Family Dentistry we can give your smile a lift without invasive treatments.

Dr. Cabot can use ultra-thin porcelain veneers to correct chipped, weakened, misshapen or discolored teeth.  No more yellow.  No more gaps or embarrassing chips. And veneers can return real structural integrity to damaged teeth, while leaving them looking as good (or possibly better) than the originals.

At Queen Village Family Dentistry, your veneers are custom made to fit over your natural teeth, with a finish more translucent to blend in with surrounding teeth.  So people won’t notice your tooth, they’ll simply see your beautiful, natural smile.

Crowns and Bridges

Restore Your Smile

Crowns and bridges are used to restore and enhance teeth that are damaged, or to take the place of missing teeth. A crown, also referred to as a cap, is used to entirely cover a damaged tooth.  A crown not only strengthens a tooth, but it can dramatically improve a tooth’s appearance, shape and alignment.

Crowns may be used to:

  • Replace a large filling when there is little tooth structure remaining
  • Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
  • Restore a fractured tooth
  • Attach a bridge
  • Cover a dental implant
  • Cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth
  • Cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment

A bridge is an ideal method to fill the space created by missing teeth.  A bridge is one or more artificial teeth that are cemented into place using the teeth on either side for support, hence the name. This is an option for filling the space created by a missing tooth. A bridge replaces the missing tooth, both functionally and cosmetically.

It is important that a missing tooth be replaced as soon as possible for several reasons. If not treated the teeth surrounding the gap begin to shift inward.  Since teeth use their neighbors for support, if one is missing they begin to “fall” and shift into the open spaces.

Crowns and bridges are very durable and can last a lifetime with proper care and good oral hygiene.

Dr. Cabot will be happy to discuss these options with you and answer any questions you have and help you determine the best approach for you.

Natural-Colored or White Fillings

Get Rid Of Dark Fillings

Although most of our patients go out of their way to request white fillings, occasionally we get questions about why we use them instead of the old standard silver fillings.

In most cases, tooth-colored or white fillings are a better restoration than silver fillings for the following reasons:

  • White fillings bond to tooth structure thereby adding strength to the tooth. Silver fillings simply fill a hole and don’t add any strength.
  • The tooth preparation (drilling) for a white filling can be more conservative. White fillings are bonded to the tooth. Once the decay is removed, very little additional preparation is needed. Silver fillings are not bonded, and therefore need undercuts, slots, grooves, and/or pins to stay in place.
  • The most obvious advantage is appearance. White fillings are mostly invisible; they blend with the tooth. Silver fillings become black as they age, can stain the tooth, and create a grey shadow visible through the sides of the tooth.

Ask Dr. Cabot about how white fillings can enhance your smile.
